Lewie Sledding

This was Lewie's first real outing in the snow. While Vegas has had a dusting or two of snow, there has never been enough to go sledding. So, we packed up our winter gear and headed up for Mount Charlestonabout a 45 minute drive. Rising from 2,200 ft in Henderson, the Sledding area is about 8,000 ft in elevation. The day before we arrived, six inches of fresh powder to an early winter base of 24 inches.

Lewie loved the day, that is, until he got a face full of snow and called it quits. Tired and worn-out he slept nearly the whole ride homeincluding the time I stopped to take a few landscape photos.
